CP Day Activities

World CP Day is an international collaboration to raise awareness of Cerebral Palsy and the many research efforts that aim to improve quality of life for individuals and their families. This year, on October 6 th, we will be joining this community that stretches across the globe. The society will keep you updated as different initiatives are launched. We are particularly excited about the prospect of a dedicated “Cerebral Palsy Wiki” that is designed and published by people with first hand experience from all different perspectives.

Carlson School is at the forefront of these events. The school will be hosting a celebratory world CP Day afternoon on their campus with a whole variety of engaging and entertaining activities. The society will also be marking the occasion with them feel free to come along.

One of the coolest things to coincide with World CP awareness is the Focus on Ability film festival which invited people living with disabilities to produce short films of no more than five minutes on a variety of topics that are relevant and interesting to them. This is an excellent example of artistic collaboration both inside and outside the sector. Several students from Carlson have entered this year – below are their details and opportunity to vote for them and view the other entries. Beware it is easy to get lost in all the entries.

It is through efforts like this that World CP day is going to have input from all different mediums with a very strong social media presence.
