Youth Awards

The Ministry of Youth Development is calling for nominations for the Youth Week 2015 Awards. These awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions that young people make to our communities and those that have made significant contributions to support young people. They are intended for exceptional individuals and groups who are valued as active members of their community.

Recipients of a Youth Week 2015 Award will be announced by Hon Nikki Kaye, Minister for Youth, at a celebratory function held at Parliament on Tuesday 26 May 2015.

Youth with Disability Award - The Youth with Disability Award will be awarded to a young person with a disability who has made a significant contribution to the disability sector and/or their community.

Award criteria

To be considered for a Youth Week Award nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Participated in the activities they were nominated for outside of their regular study or work commitments
  • Be aged between 12 and 24 on 23 May 2015 (or the majority of group participants to meet this requirement)
  • Be currently living, and have lived in New Zealand for the past 12 months or more
  • Have participated in the activities they have been nominated for within the past 12 months.
