Meet Our Successful Paras
The months immediately following the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will be a defining moment for the future growth and success of Para-Sport in this country. To harness the excitement created by the most extensive free-to-air broadcast of a Paralympic Games in New Zealand, Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ), together with Major Partner ACC, will stage a series of ACC Paralympics New Zealand Open Days
Here is a great opportunity to meet and greet our very successful Para team fresh off the plane from Rio. Thanks to their ACC sponsor members will pop into your neighbourhood with unbelievable tales of their South American adventures.
As the Paralympic website states
These events will give you a chance to meet some of the Paralympians you’ve watched represent your country in Rio, as well as showcase the grassroots Para-Sport programmes that exist in the local community.
The ACC Paralympics New Zealand Open Days aim to give people living with a disability in New Zealand the opportunity to learn more about the sports and recreation opportunities available to them in their regions. The Open Days are delivered with the help of regional ParaFeds and Paralympics New Zealand preferred equipment provider, Invacare.
